
Update your iPhones and iPads immediately- The Indian Government

Indian Computer Emergency Response asked the Indian Apple users to update their iPad and iPhones to their latest versions. (versions. iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1). This urgent update is for a need of a bug fixing. It fixes memory corruption zero-day vulnerability. The government has confirmed that the zero-day vulnerability bug was so much exploited.
An attacker with kernel privileges can easily access arbitrary code and gain elevated privileges and confidential data from a device. It is better to update ASAP to avoid such thing from happening as it is a step towards privacy and security.
CERT-IN sent a security alert notification for all the iPhone and iPad users to update their devices to its latest versions. The issue of memory corruption affects iPhone 6s device and later versions. It also affected iPad Air 2 and later versions along with iPad Pro models. The iPad 5th generation and later versions, and iPad 4 and later versions also need to be updated.
How to update your apple device (iPhone and iPad)?
To update your iPhone devices, follow the steps mentioned below-
- Firstly, Go to Settings
- Tap on General
- Click on Software Update
- If your device has a pending update, you will see option to update.
- Select for Download and Install update.
- Now you need to wait till it downloads and then leave your device preferably on charging to complete the installation process.

Mac users can also update to the latest versions but they are not in the danger zone of getting attacked by an attacker.
